Fermanagh SF threatened

Print | Email

Sinn Fein councillors in Co. Fermanagh have been threatened by a loyalist paramilitary group calling itself the Real UVF. It has been claimed the threat was issued through a local newspaper. Fermanagh South Tyrone Sinn Fein MP, Michelle Gildernew, described the threats as "sick". This latest event has added to growing tensions in Fermanagh. In recent months dissident republican activity has been on the rise, with a number of attacks on PSNI members in Lisnaskea and Roslea and threats made to civil service staff who co-operate with the PSNI. Both threats are accredited to the Continuity IRA.
