Results of the ninth count: Newcomer Carmel Brady (FG) elected, having exceeded the quota. Other candidates elected without reaching the quota Val Smyth (FG), Fergal Curtin (FF), Clifford Kelly (FF). They join Niamh Smyth (FF) and Paddy McDonald (SF) on Cavan County Council.

Result of the seventh count is in. The Sinn Féin whip Charlie Boylan has been eliminated - a casualty of the redrawing of the boundaries from the LEA. A massive round of applause for him from the floor. His votes are now to be distributed.

Sixth count - no candidate has reached the quota. John O'Hare (FG) has lost his seat, has been eliminated and his votes are now to be distributed.
