The Wizard of Oz brings a little magic to the Ramor Theatre

Ramor Young players present the Wizard of Oz at the Ramor Theatre for three performances on Friday, November 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 (on Friday at 7pm and on Saturday and Sunday at 3pm). The Wizard of Oz is a cherished favourite story with great appeal for children thanks to images and songs like Follow the Yellow Brick Road and featuring characters of Auntie Em, Toto, Dorothy, the Wicked witch, Lion, Tinman and Scarecrow, as well as that memorable piece of music Over the Rainbow. It tells the story of Kansas farm girl Dorothy who is struck on the head during a fierce tornado and transported to a land beyond the rainbow, There she meets a selection of magical characters. After a journey down a Yellow Brick Road to the Land of Oz and the defeat of the Wiched Witch of the West, Dorothy and her friends are rewarded with their hearts’ desires and in the end Dorothy returns home to Kansas. The play is directed by Kevin O’Connor, who has many years of experience of working with young people.
