This venture has been planned as a joint venture with the Drung GFC senior and juvenile clubs and St Finbarr’s ladies to raise funds to go solely to the development of new clubrooms at our pitch. Cavan Kayakarun

What: Cavan Kayakarun hosting a charity event: 5k run or walk or a cycle with two routes 30k and 60k. All proceeds to Aoibheann’s Pink Tie Charity which is a charity that assists and helps families and their children who are going through the traumas and pain of cancer. Virginia Heritage Fair Day

What: Fair Day fun. Tractor run - proceeds will go to CanTeen Ireland (Teenage Cancer Support). Sponsorship is going nicely and the Cycle run in aid of Virginia Cancer Care is also going well. What: Laura D. Kelley of Tulane University, New Orleans, launches her best-selling book 'The Irish in New Orleans’.
This entertaining and beautiful illustrated book tells the courageous adventures and inspiring stories of the Irish population of New Orleans, America’s most exotic city. The volume also includes a wonderful essay on Margaret of New Orleans which describes her as one of the most famous Irish immigrant women of New Orleans, if not the entire US.
