Aine Cahill to perform at Glastonbury

Cavan singer-songwriter Aine Cahill and her band have been name-checked to play one of the world’s most illustrious music festivals, Glastonbury, later this summer.
Scheduled to take to The Bread and Roses stage on Thursday, June 23, promoters made contact with the Aine and her band following headline-grabbing performance at London’s Blues Kitchen and The Dublin Castle in Camden, the latter of which is where the late Amy Winehouse rose to fame.
Drummer with Aine’s backing band Spam Turner, as well as manager Paul Cox, told The Anglo-Celt: “This is a major achievement for Áine and her team and this year she plays most of the major festivals here at home Body & Soul, Electric Picnic, Sunflowerfest in Belfast, the Drogheda Maritime Festival and Le Cheile in Oldcastle.”
The past 24 months have been a whirlwind of success for the 21-year-old Castletara songstress who featured on Irish national television and radio.
Her performance of debut track 'Black Dahlia’ on the Today FM Breakfast show has to date racked up an incredible 80,000+ views.
Her stellar rise has also seen Aine play some of Ireland’s biggest venues, and share the stage with many of the country’s biggest acts, from The Strypes to Jerry Fish, Picture This and Duke Special, as well as The Henry Girls and winner of The Voice of Ireland, Brendan McCahey.
Aine’s debut 5-track EP 'Paper Crown’ was named the #1 Unsigned EP by U&I Magazine. In 2016, to celebrate International Woman’s Day, Her.ie compiled a list of 'Woman You Should Know’ naming Áine as one of their 'Female Game Changers’ in the entertainment industry in Ireland.
