Antiques and high class furniture to go under the hammer

A mirror expected to fetch €3,000-€5,000 at the auction.

Auctioneer Oliver Usher, is holding an antique and high class furniture auction at The Auction Rooms, John Street, Kells, Co. Meath next Tuesday, July 13, at 5pm.

The auction will see a number of items of value and interest go under the hammer.

The auction contains the complete contents of a period residence in Hollybrook Road, a sought-after address in the coastal area of Clontarf in Dublin 3.

Oliver told The Anglo-Celt of a number of lots that may be of particular interest to bidders.

Lot 324 is a Girandole & Gesso overmantle mirror dating to circa early 19th century. The estimated value is €3,000 to €5,000. Lot 351 is an Edwardian mahogany, Georgian style four-door secretaire bookcase, which is estimated at €2,500 to €2,800. Lot 434 is a Victorian mirror-backed, mahogany, four-door, seven-foot-long sideboard, estimated at €800 to €1,200. Lot 422 is a Georgian mahogany chest of drawers, which has an estimated value of €500 to €700.

Viewing for this auction is this Sunday, July 11, from 2pm-6pm, on Monday, July 12, from 11am-7pm, and on the day of sale from 11am.
