Kildallon House to generate a lot of interest

Anyone wishing to expand their farming business or considering entering the farming sector will be interested in the sale of Kildallon House near Ballyconnell this Thursday. According to auctioneer Martin O'Reilly of O'Reilly, Taylor and Tweedy: "The entire 38 acre farm is laid out in good divisions and has good road frontage giving easy access to all the lands." He added that the farm is coming to the market at a time of wonderful opportunity for anybody who is involved in farming to purchase an excellent property. The auction takes place in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Ballyconnell at 3pm tomorrow (Thursday). Located half way between Ballyconnell and Killeshandra, this property comes on the market from the representatives of the late William Rea and could be an outdoor enthusiast's dream, being within easy reach of Loughs Erne, Gowna and the renowned Sheelin. This period residence has charm as well as extensive fishing and boating opportunities. The property is approached via a long tree-lined avenue and the residence is in need of some modernisation. It contains many of its original features. This seven-bedroom period house is set well back from the road surrounded by woodland and pasture land. "With the price of land increasing, there will be a lot of interest in the property," said Martin. The accommodation includes entrance hall, dining room, sitting room and a study with slate chimney piece and doors leading to the rear garden. Six of the seven ample-sized bedrooms have attractive cast-iron fireplaces. To the rear is an old stone courtyard with small stone buildings in a state of disrepair. The property will be sold in three lots: Lot one is the entire property, lot two is the dwelling house, outbuildings and 8.6 acres, and lot three is the balance of the lands containing roughly 30 acres. O'Reilly, Taylor and Tweedy also have three holdings of land at Clonloaghan and Kilnacrott for sale by public auction on Saturday, April 14, in the Farnham Arms Hotel at 3pm. Lot one consists of a dwelling house and 20 acres at Clonloaghan and Kilnacrott including three bay slatted shed, cattle shed and dwelling house. "The land is laid out in six divisions all of very good quality and is suitable for any type of farming enterprise," said Martin. The dwelling house contains living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Lot two is land at Kilnacrott comprising 14.2 acres of which approximately 12.46 acres are planted for the past four years with ash. Lot three is land at Clonloaghan and Kilcogy, which features 2.9 acres of bog suitable for grazing with right of way from Main Road.
