McGuinness meets budding young Cootehill scientists

Mairéad McGuinness MEP has congratulated three students in St Aidan’s Comprehensive School, Cootehill, for their young scientist project ‘If abolishing milk quotas will encourage the uptake of dairy farming’.
The students received an award for their display of the project, which included a letter from the EU Agriculture Commissioner, Dacian Ciolos who wrote to the students encouraging them in their project work.
“The three young men, Sean McBreen, Shane Smith and Shane Clerkin, did a huge amount of research for their project,” said Ms McGuinness.
“I visited them at their school in Cootehill to debate the issues involved in milk production in Ireland post milk quota abolition.
“They are three very impressive students with a great appetite for research and for knowledge.
“It is a credit to them, their parents and teachers that they got to exhibit their work at the young scientist exhibition and were awarded for it.”
