Ulster Scór semi-final night

Representing Monaghan in the instrumental music at the Scór Ulster semi-finals were Scotstown who performed a jig called Rosewood and two reels The Musical Priest and Tommy Peoples.
One of the three semi finals of this year's Senior Scór competitions took place last Friday night in Stradone.
A capacity crowd enjoyed a wonderful night's entertainment with teams from Cavan, Monaghan and Fermanagh competing for a place in the Ulster final. Congratulations must go to all the members of Laragh United GFC who left no stone unturned to make sure all visitors, competitors and adjudicators were catered for.
First winners on the night for Cavan were the Cornafean Tráth na gCeist team of Michael Dinneny, Tommy Mc Gibney and Brian Doyle. Another Cornafean victory followed with Michael McGibney taking the recitation section with his hilarious rendition "Doing the Double".
In the Novelty Act section, Belturbet Rory O'Moores took the honours. Members of the team included Caroline O'Reilly, John Mc Donald, Daniel Leonard and Tony and Martin Gorby.
Well done to Gowna Ballad Group, Templeport Music Group, Belturbet Ceili Dancers, Killeshandra Solo Singer and Cornafean Set Dancers who all represented the county with pride but were not winners on this occasion.
The Ulster final will take place in Threemilehouse, Co. Monaghan on Saturday, March 27 at 7pm.
