Learning the art of apiculture is an exciting challenge

Bee keeping is definitely more than a hobby, it requires patience, commitment and a consummate knowledge of apiculture (bee rearing).

Over 40 years ago the V roofed wooden beehives, usually painted white, were often a feature in gardens across Ireland. In the days before the big supermarkets if you wanted to have honey on your bread or in a hot drink when you were feeling unwell you had to rely on the industrious bees in those beehives to produce it for you.
