Simplifying the past

Exhibition of 30 paintings on display in DCU's Helix, Dublin

Paul Galligan whose exhibition runs at The Helix, DCU until the end of the month.

Artist Paul Galligan's exhibition of 30 oil paintings - Project 30 - created over just four months is currently on display in the Helix, DCU. The exhibition will close on November 30 at 7.30pm with Paul giving a lecture to the DCU alumni. The Celt's Damian McCarney got his questions in with the Cavan town artist ahead of the DCU students.

Anglo-Celt: It must be a big achievement to have your work exhibited in the Helix?

Paul Galligan: It's a good name to have under your belt anyway.

AC: Tell us about your exhibition.

PG: It's a series of 30 paintings. They are all abstract paintings, straight from my head. They are all oil paintings, put on with a knife and they all come from the sediment history of human nature.

For full interview, see this week's Anglo-Celt newspaper.
