Cavan man in critical condition in UK hospital

A young Cavan man has been taken to an intensive care unit where it is understood he is in a critical but stable medical condition following a fall at a Newcastle hotel at the weekend. Gary Martin (27) was seriously injured during last Saturday afternoon while holidaying with friends in Newcastle, England.

Northumbria Police confirmed the incident occurred at 5.33pm on Saturday, June 1, at the Premier Inn in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead. He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary hospital in Newcastle where authorities described his condition as “critical but stable”.

His family has been informed.
