The death occurred on Tuesday, May 12, of Susan Smith, known as Susie, late of 16 Tullacmongan, Cavan, in her 44th year.

Susie passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at Cavan General Hospital. Susie was the second eldest daughter of the late Patrick and Maryann Buckley.

Susie lived her life to the full although leaving us at a very young age. She will be remembered for her time spent in McCarren"s Factory and the Galley Restaurant, Cavan.

Susie bore her illness with great dignity and she never complained and always kept her humour. She was a very courageous woman and a great sister and friend. Susie"s first and foremost love was her family, her husband James, sons Joseph, Anthony and Christopher. For those of us who knew Susie she will never be forgotten.

Susie"s remains reposed at her home until Thursday, May 14, by then her remains were received at the Cathedral by Fr. Ultan McGoohan and Fr. Kevin Fay. Susie"s funeral Mass took place on Friday, May 15, and was celebrated by Fr. Ultan McGoohan and concelebrated by Fr. Jason Murphy.

Susie is survived by her husband James; sons Joseph, Anthony and Christopher; her sisters Mrs. Catherine smith, Shankill, Maryann Tilson, Morahill, Frances Clerkin, Drung; brothers Patrick Buckley, Doncaster, England and John Buckley, Cavan; also her parents-in-law John and Joan Smith, Legaland, Crossdoney. Susie"s remains were interred in Cullies Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

For those of us who die, go no further than God, and God is very near.
