Sisters Mobeena and Nafeesa Naz from Loreto College, Cavan, have reached the national finals of the Doodle 4 Google competition.

Happiness is a Doodle for Google

To me, happiness is... What is it for you? It's different for everyone, and students across the county have been expressing their own interpretations of it in the Doodle 4 Google competition. Google web designers create the homepage designs many of us are used to seeing, to celebrate people, events or dates, and for the third year running the company invited Irish students to create their own doodles in the Doodle 4 Google competition. This year's theme is ‘To me, happiness is...' and more than 80 entries were submitted in a competition at Loreto College. The Student Council picked six winners to represent the school in the competition's first heat in this region, and four students made it through to the regional finals; fifth years Louise Dunne and Eliza Johnston; second year Mobeena Naz; and her sister in first year Nafeesa Naz. Two national schools in Cavan also made it through to the regional finals – Corlurgan and St. Brigid's. Mobeena Naz and Nafeesa Naz have won the regional finals and are now in the national finals. It's a race between the sisters to get as many votes as possible. There is one vote for each computer per day. You can vote every day for one entry over the next three weeks. To view and vote for the students' winning entries see google.ie/doodle4google/2011/vote. Your support will be greatly appreciated by Loreto College. The winning student will have their doodle appear on the Google Ireland home page for 24 hours. They will also receive a laptop for themselves and their school will receive a €10,000 technology grant.
