Threat to Cavan army barracks

"We should be united and bring the strongest possible pressure straight to Kildare street. Indeed we should go and march outside the Dáil in an effort to retain this purpose built army barracks."
This was the exhortation of Cllr Gerry Murray (FF) at Monday's meeting of Cavan County Council. He was speaking on a motion by Cllr Patricia Walsh (FF) calling on Minister for Justice and Defence, Alan Shatter, to "come clean" in relation to his plans for Dun Ui Neill.
