Killydoon village in the heart of Mullahoran has scooped the 2011 Spring Clean award organised by Cavan County Council and the top prize of €1,000.

Their efforts last April involved collecting litter for a distance of 15km from Killydoon village to the County bridge, resulting in 45 adults and children collecting in excess of 500 bags of roadside litter.

A wonderful community spirit prevails in the Killydoon area and the new committee will be known as Killydoon Development Association from here on out.
