New bell to toll on Christmas Eve

When the foundation stone for the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Kingscourt was laid on July 25, 1869, it was envisaged that the completed church would include a bell tower and a steeple but this never materialised. Now, thanks to a major €1m renovation, the new bell will ring for the first time on Christmas Eve.
