Lisdaran closure would kill elderly people - daughter

The daughter of a resident in the Lisdaran Unit for the Elderly in Cavan has spoken out this week saying that some of the voiceless elderly people who are resident in unit will die of broken hearts if they are forced out of their home.
Olive Tierney is a member of the newly formed Save Lisdaran Action Committee, which is fighting to retain the unit amid increasing fears that 54 beds are to be closed there as part of an ongoing review.
