450 runners make a dash around Cavan

The Cavan Christmas Dash was an outstanding success with roughly 450 people - more than twice the number expected - undertaking the 5K challenge and raising an estimated €7,000-plus for the Cavan Alzheimer's Day Centre.
Organiser of the Athletics Ireland backed event believed to be the first 5K race in Cavan town on St Stephen's Day, Liam Mimnagh, said it really "exceeded expectations".
