Virginia launches quadricentennial celebrations

Good news for anyone with Virginia connections

Fr. Johnny Cusack and Rev. Craig McCauley's give an ecumenical blessing to the Virginia 400 Anniversary.

Virginia has an impressive programme of events lined up this year to celebrate its quadricentennial (400th anniversary), and county manager, Jack Keyes, kicked off proceedings when he unveiled a new commemorative Fáilte sign for the town, last Friday night.

One of the oldest residents, Virginia (Jean) Douglas, was joined by the town's newest arrival six-day old Magdalena Konradova, as they cut the birthday cake.

Full story in this week's Anglo-Celt.
