Use the words operation and hospital in the same sentence and it usually means one thing, writes Seamus Enright. But some 20 members of staff at Cavan General Hospital are taking a more light-hearted approach to it, and all for a healthier heart with the group embarking on a Hospital Operation Transformation in a bid to improve their lifestyle.
A spin-off from TV health promotion shows Operation Transformation and Biggest Loser, the in-hospital initiative is being organised by the hospital's health promotion officer and project co-ordinator Jacinta McAree-Murphy.
