The accident site at Bullock Lane in Cavan Town last Tuesday afternoon where a man was crushed by a fallen cherrypicker.
A worksite incident where a man was crushed by a hydraulic cherrypicker machine earlier this week is to be investigated by Health and Safety Authority, after it was referred as to them as a worksite accident by Gardai.
Gardai cordoned off the Bullock Lane area in Cavan Town around midday last Tuesday, after they received a report that a man had become trapped under a cherrypicker that had toppled over.
As a result, it is understood the man suffered a serious injury to his leg and was subsequently brought to Cavan General Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Gardai cordoned off the laneway from Main Street to Townparks for several hours while the scene was documented and cleared.
The HSA confirmed to The Anglo-Celt that the incident is now being investigated by their offices.
