Car show in memory of tragic Clones teen

A car show will be held in memory of a Clones teenager who tragically died in a car accident.
The ‘Daniel Douglas Award Winning Memorial Car Show & Cruise’ will take place in Clones in conjunction with the Cross Border Cruisers Club on Sunday, August 3, marking what would have been his 21st birthday.
Daniel was killed in a tragic car accident in March 2011, when he was just 17-years-old.
This event is a joint venture between the Cross Border Cruisers Club and The Douglas family, and is not only a tribute to Daniel who had a great interest in cars, but aspires to create awareness of Road Safety for all road users, especially younger ones.
All monies raised will go towards funding a Road Safety Awareness event which will be run in conjunction with the County Monaghan Rotary Club and the Douglas family.
The initiative had a pilot event ‘Just One Life... Young Drivers Awareness Day’ in January 2014 in the Hillgrove Hotel an attracted over 300 transition year students and their teachers.
It is intended that this roadshow will be rolled out across the county to all schools and clubs, youth organisations etc in order to create awareness and endeavour to save lives.
