Garda appeal for witnesses to assaults

A man was head-butted outside Cavan bus station and, in an entirely separate incident, another knocked unconscious outside a local nightclub as gardaí appeal for witnesses to two assaults, which occurred at the weekend.
The first incident occurred at Cavan bus station on Sunday, September 28, at approximately 12.30pm. It was reported to gardaí that a male was assaulted by another unknown to him. He received a headbutt to the face but no serious injuries were inflicted.
Later that night, into the early hours of Monday morning, September 29, there was another alleged assault in which a young male was left unconscious following an attack outside a nightclub on upper Main Street. The man received treatment and gardaí are now seeking witnesses to both incidents, which are not believed to be connected.
Meanwhile, gardaí are investigating the break-in to a number of vehicles in Cavan Town area over the past week.A truck was broken into at Shankhill between September 24-25 with fuel taken from it, while a window of an Audi was damaged while parked in the multi-storey car park in Cavan Town last Monday.
