An 18-year-old Cavan girl has just bagged herself a one-year contract with a modelling agency after she was crowned the best-dressed debutante in the country for 2014.
Kayleigh McCaffrey from Laragh Crescent in Cavan Town took top honours at the DEBS Ireland.com awards in association with Assets Model Agency and Best Menswear.
Currently studying for her Leaving Certificate at Loreto College, Kayleigh is now registered with Assets Model Agency and will be doing a photoshoot early in the new year as part of her prize.
A delighted Kayleigh told the Celt that she is thrilled. “It is fantastic,” she gushed.
She was attending the Loreto College Debs in the Dunboyne Castle earlier in the year when she was chosen as the best-dressed girl to represent Cavan. She was then selected from over 100 other female competitors to participate in the final of the competition.
They were all interviewed by judges from Assets Model Agency and Debs Ireland.
At the grand final in Dunboyne Castle, Kayleigh was announced the winner, getting the nod from the judges and also topping the online voting.
Kayleigh says she is “working hard” for the Leaving Certificate and hopes to pursue a career in teaching.
