Cavan man dies in new zealand crash

A young Cavan man has died in a road crash in New Zealand on Friday last (January 2).

Martin Cadden (22), from Loughduff, Mullahoran had been living and working in the country as an agricultural worker since 2013.

He died when his car hit a tree at 11:20pm local time on Lake Road at Leeston, near Lake Ellesmere, Canterbury.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has stated consular assistance had not been requested.
