More time granted to review evidence in boston nanny case

A Boston judge has granted a medical examiner asked to review the autopsy records of an infant who died while in the care of Cavan nanny Aisling Brady McCarthy additional time to complete her report.

Jacqueline Faherty, chief legal counsel for the Massachusetts Medical Examiner’s Office, told Middlesex County Superior Court yesterday (Thursday, July 30) that Dr Katherine Lindstrom has not yet reached a final conclusion on the 2013 death of 12-month-old Rehim Sabir. Ms Faherty added that she would like to review grand jury testimony also before making a determination.

Lavey-native Ms Brady McCarthy has remained in State custody in the US since being accused of killing baby Rehma in the family’s apartment near Boston. She has at all times pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against her.

The next hearing is slated for August 28th followed by a trial in October.
