Temperatures to soar in Cavan next week

After a long hard winter, summer may finally be on the horizon in Cavan with temperatures expected to rise over the next few days, writes Ultan Sherry.

While some scattered showers are forecast for tomorrow (Saturday), mild weather is forecast with temperatures on Sunday reaching 19 degrees celsius.

Perhaps then it’s time to break out the 99s and the lemonade and dust down those barbecues!

“We’re looking at temperatures on Monday to be upwards of 20 to 22 degrees, and possibly up to 23 degrees on Tuesday,” according to Clara Finkley of Met Eireann.

“There will be light easterly winds resulting in dry fine weather, and the nights will also be mild too, with temperatures being around 8 to 10 degrees,' she continued.

There is the slight possiblilty though that the weather could break again towards the end of next week but it’s too early to say.

The best advice then is to make the most of it while it lasts, because Irish weather tends to change very very quickly.

Don’t forget the sun cream, of course!
