'Best Chef in Ireland' set for Taste of Cavan this August


On this year's delectable Taste of Cavan menu is none other than the ‘Best Chef in Ireland’ - and he’s got the award to prove it.

In addition to the likes of Taste of Cavan favourites Neven Maguire, Richard Corrigan and Rachel Allen, Cavan Equestrian Centre will welcome two times Michelin Star-winner and Cavan native Enda McEvoy for his debut in this the festival's fifth year. Enda won the top prize ‘Best Chef in Ireland’ at the most recent RAI awards for his culinary creations at Galway City’s Loam where he is both head chef and proprietor.

The line-up was announced at the launch of the two-day food-fest on August 12-13 Neven Maguire's MacNean House on Wednesday afternoon, where event organisers, council officials, local politicians and more chefs than you could shake a ladle at gathered for a sumptuous banquet.

Richard Corrigan will make his second appearance at Taste of Cavan, having been a star attraction in 2014. The owner of Virginia Park Lodge and successful London restaurants Corrigan’s of Mayfair and the Bentley, is one of the most highly-regarded chefs in the UK and Ireland.

Taste of Cavan is delighted to welcome back Ireland’s best-loved chef and proud Cavan man Neven Maguire, who in addition to his live demonstrations will also host cookery competition ‘The Home Chef of Cavan’ which is sure to add a little spice to proceedings!
The line-up is completed by the much-loved Rachel Allen, local food champion Gearóid Lynch, Indian food star Anjula Devi, rising stars Chef Shane Smith and Chef Adrian Martin, ‘The No Salt Chef’ Brian McDermot, and Bord Bia Food Ambassador Máire Dufficy.
With over 130 stands and over 40,000 visitors expected, this year’s Taste of Cavan promises to be the biggest and best yet.
