Cavan web-users urged to query minister

In a social media first, Minister Denis Naughten is to participate in a live broadcast on Facebook addressing questions from the public on the National Broadband Plan.

The broadcast will take the form of a live Q&A session where the public can submit their questions to be answered live by Minister Naughten and the top officials in the Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment. It will go live on Facebook at 7pm on Tuesday, September 13.

Senator Joe O’Reilly has urged members of the public to get their questions ready.

“The rollout of high speed broadband is hugely significant to communities throughout this area and it is important that people are provided with the correct information and that their questions are answered,” stated Senator O’Reilly. “This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has a query on the NBP to have that question answered or to simply find out more information.

The National Broadband Plan promises delivery of high speed broadband to every citizen and premises in Ireland and is regarded as vital in particular for rural businesses, start-ups and families.

Minister Naughten previously confirmed that the NBP will be expanded to over 900,000 rural homes and businesses.

If you have a question about the broadband plan you have the opportunity to ask Minister Naughten directly via Facebook. Simply 'like' Minister Naughten’s page in advance at https://www.facebook.com/DenisNaughtenTD/ and you can set up a notification of the commencement of the live broadcast.
