Celeb spotters left Dancing in the Dark over rumours The Boss and Ed Sheeran jetted in for Aiken wedding

Bruce Springsteen, Ed Sheerin, Imelda May and Tommy Tiernan were among those causing a feverpitch of rumour in Virginia and Oldcastle on Saturday when music promoter Peter Aiken's daughter, Laura married Cillian Woods whose mother, Gemma is a local woman.
However a lot of it turned out to be just that - rumour. None of the guests spotted The Boss among the the 260 guests and nobody could actually confirm a sighting of Imelda May. However, Ed Sheerin did send a card which was read out at the reception in the Virginia Park Lodge and Tommy Tiernan was actually there.

Though one staff member working at the wedding reports that Bruce Springsteen's name did appear on the table plan for 'table 9'.
The biggest celebrities at the wedding in St Brigid's Church, Oldcastle were the clergy - the mass was celebrated by the famous recording artist and YouTube senation, Fr Ray Kelly who is Parish Priest of Oldcastle. He was assisted by the outspoken showbiz priest, Fr Brian Darcy.
St Brigid's Church was almost full for the proceedings and the town was alight with rumour as locals speculated who would be among the guests at the wedding of the music gurus daughter. Laura Aiken is a daughter of music promoter, Peter Aiken and grandaughter of the late Jim Aiken.
Bruce Springsteen was the showbiz icon of choice for most speculators, but unfortunately he was not among the guests who enjoyed the sumptious surroundings of the Richard Corrigan owned hotel after the wedding ceremony in Oldcastle Church which was ablaze with fabulous flowers.
The wedding was planned by Weddings by Franc which featured in a reality television show some years ago.
While the bride, Laura Aiken, may not have been a local, the groom Cillian Woods has impressive local connections.
He hails from Strandhill in County Sligo, but his mother is Gemma Geraghty, who is originally from Oldcastle. His grandmother, Carmel who was among the VIP guests at the wedding still lives in Oldcastle, as do many of his relatives.
The wedding was a moving ceremony and like most brides and grooms who are married in Oldcastle, they enjoyed a performance by Fr Ray of his version of Hallelujah during the ceremony.
