Man arrested over 2008 rocket attack

A man has been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service for Northern Ireland (PPS) in relation to a rocket attack on police officers at Lisnaskea almost nine-years-ago.

The 30-year-old was arrested in the Belfast area last Wednesday, June 13, by detectives investigating serious crime.

The file being sent to the PPS concerns an incident which took place in the Fermanagh town involving alleged attempted murder and possession of explosives with intent to endanger life. Three Northern Ireland police officers on foot patrol narrowly avoided serious injury when a rocket-propelled grenade was fired at them but failed to explode.
