Cavan hosts a weekend of top showjumping

The business end of a major showjumping event promises to thrill Cavan Town audiences this weekend.

Attracted by no less than 34 national competitions and six international competitions, huge crowds have been descending on Cavan Equestrian Centre since Wednesday as the venue hosts their annual indoor International Horse Show, which runs until this Sunday, November 12.

Once again, the Cavan Equestrian Centre will be streaming all the weekend's main events online on www.irishsport.tv.
The International Event Number 2 Jump Off Class, Friday night's feature event, will commence at 7.30pm.
Saturday’s feature events commence with the Amateur Autumn Series Final at 1pm, followed by International Competition No 3 Jim Derwin Bloodstock Table C Speed at 4.30pm.

Puissance

The International Competition No 4 is the Cavan County Council-sponsored Jump Off at 7pm, followed by the greatly anticipated Kingsland Puissance. Last year's Puissance event thrilled crowds following a Cavan record attempt of 2m20.
The concluding day, Sunday is ultimately all about the finals in the National Events.
These include the 5-year-old and 4-year-old finals sponsored by Euro Stallions & Robertson Equine, with International Competition No 5 commencing then at 2pm, sponsored by the Farnham Arms Hotel.
The 6-year-old and 7-year-old finals, sponsored by Farnham Estate, take place thereafter, with the closing event of the 2017 International Show, the International Grand Prix, commencing at 7.30pm. All six international classes, the Puissance, Amateur Autumn Series Final, as well as the 4, 6, and 7-year-old finals will all also be live streamed online.
“Cavan International Show is sure to be the place for everyone to enjoy top class Showjumping!,” a spokesperson for Cavan Equestrian Centre said.
