Major water outage in Cavan Town

A major burst in the water main has caused a loss of supply to hundreds of homes in Cavan Town and its environs.

The damaged main will affect homes to the north of across the areas of Carrickfern, Dublin Road, Drumgola, Ballyhaise Road, Kilnavara, Butlersbridge, Killygarry, Drumalee for much of the day.

Its not expected the issue will be remedied and supply restored until later tonight.

The Council took to Twitter and Facebook earlier this morning to alert locals of the supply outage, saying: “A major burst in the #water main will cause loss of supply in #Cavan Town, Carrickfern, Drumgola, Dublin Rd, Ballyhaise Rd, Kilnavara, Butlersbridge, & Killygarry today. Supply expected to be restored at 10pm tonight”.

Works, the Council say, have an estimated completion time of 10pm on Monday, December 4.
