Arrests – Cash in Transit Robbery Oldcastle

Gardaí investigating a cash-in-transit robbery at Oldcastle in Meath earlier this year have arrested two males.
As a cash-in-transit employee was making a delivery to a bank at Market Square in Oldcastle, gardaí say a black car pulled up alongside him. A male with a balaclava covering his face exited this vehicle and threatened the delivery man with a bar.
The culprit then grabbed the cash box, which contained a sum of money and made off in the car.
This vehicle was later found partially burned out at "Stoney Road" near Oldcastle town. There were no injuries sustained by the driver of the van.
On Tuesday morning, gardaí from Kells, assisted by members from 'Operation Delivery' and the Special Task Force, conducted a search, under warrant, at two locations in the greater Dublin Area.
Two males in their 30s were arrested and taken to Kells Garda Station where they were, at time of going to print, being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act 1984.
