Cavan Bachelor Wins €40k Scratch Card Prize

 

The wins keep rolling in for Co Cavan Lotto players after a Cavan bachelor collected a cheque for a cool €40,000 today from National Lottery HQ.

The man in his 50’s, who is a farmer became the fourth winner in the county in a fortnight.

They include more than €112,000 was won by Kerry McGowan on the Nationally Lottery ticket at Rudden's Costcutter in Cavan Town; followed by a €100,000 winner at the same shop in the New Year Millionaire draw; and a €250,000 scooped by store manager Piotr Kotwa at Super Valu at Drumalee in the same game.

The latest comes as a result of a Money Multiplier 40X scratch card the Cavan man purchased at Pat’s Store, Main Street in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan. The same local shop sold a almost €7m jackpot winning ticket in March 2011.

Speaking at Lotto HQ, the man said that he hadn’t yet any firm plans on what to spend his windfall on, but that he would do “a few renovations around the house”.

He also revealed that he would be keeping “schtum and telling nobody” about the win, saying: “The only person I’m telling about this is my accountant!”
