Local model vying for chance at worldwide fame

A Cavan model is preparing to put her best foot forward and strut her stuff on the catwalk for a chance at representing Ireland worldwide.

Glamorous Ciara Louise Lynch (21) from Drumalee is set to complete against 100 other models as part of the Top Model Ireland competition, to take place at Dublin’s Citywest Hotel on January 20.
The chosen winner will not only carry the title of winner but bear the responsibility of representing the country at one of the most prestigious modelling events set to take place during the upcoming London Fashion Week.
But all could have been different for Ciara Louise had it not been for her four-year-old son Jason who served his mum up some inspirational advice.
Ciara Louise, who is a former Miss Bikini Ireland finalist as well as a DIVA Next Door calender girl, had taken a sabbatical from the industry until Jason encouraged her to once again chasing her dreams.
“He just said to me, ‘Why don’t you go back?’, so I did,” laughs Ciara Louise, who adds that her loving son also is keen to help by practising catwalk exercises with her.
“He’s brilliant and he keeps me going. If I do it, I do it for him,” the former Crosserlough NS and Loreto College student told The Anglo-Celt.
She adds that she is “passionate” about modelling and high-fashion.
The winner of last year’s Top Model Ireland competition was runner-up at the world event and was even invited to walk in London Fashion Week after which her photo featured in top magazine, Vogue.
Ahead of January 20, Ciara Louise admits she and the other contestants are already being put through their paces including a two-day modelling bootcamp by model coach Audrey O’Neill.
Meanwhile, casting a critical eye over the Top Model Ireland contestants will be a fantastic line up of guest judges including vlogger Daniel Euan Henderson, Rianne Ward of UK Plus Size Fashion Week and owner of Evolve Magazine, TV presenter and chat show host Bibi Baskin and Lauren Kelly of Spin103.8.
“I’m so excited, I can’t wait really,” says Ciara Louise, who is sponsored locally for her appearance at Top Model Ireland by Becky’s Beauty Parlour in Cavan Town and Off the Rack Boutique in Cootehill.
“I just love modelling, its an incredible feeling when you’re up there,” she adds.
“It would be an incredible feeling if I won, life-changing really. I just want to do myself and everyone else proud.”
