New Chief Superintendent for Cavan Monaghan Division attends JPC

The newly appointed Chief Superintendent for Cavan Monaghan Division attended his first official function in the county when he attended the Cavan Joint Policing Committee meeting.

Chief Superintendent John O'Reilly has only recently taken up the post before his address to the JPC meeting at the Council Chambers. The new Chief Superintendent is a originally from Kilnaleck and has held a number of posts within the organisation.

In his address to the members he said he was looking forward to the challenge of the post and expressed his hope to hold the position for a number of years. Chief Superintendent O'Reilly said: “I am looking forward to working will all the members of the JPC.”

Cllr Winston Bennett congratulated the new head of the local Garda division on his appointment saying that all on the Joint Policing Committee were also looking forward to working with him. The appointment was a popular one with the JPC members.

Cllr Clifford Kelly said that it was good that the new appointment had given a commitment to the Cavan Monaghan positions: “It is great to see a Cavan man in the role. He told us that he intends to hold the position for some time to come.”
