Man due in court over Donohoe murder

 

A man is to appear before a court in Dundalk this evening charged in connection with the murder of Kilnaleck-native Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe five-years-ago.

 

Father-of-two Det Gda Donohoe (41) was shot dead outside Lordship Credit Union near Dundalk, Co Louth on January 25 2013 following an attempted robbery.

 

The man due before the courts is aged in his mid-late 20s, and he was arrested as he left Wheatfield Prison in Dublin last week having completed serving a sentence in relation to motoring offences.

 

Earlier today (Sunday, March 4), a second male arrested by gardaí investigating Det Gda Donohoe’s murder was released without charge. Aged in his 50s, the man was arrested in Dundalk last Monday, and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
