Application to extend time for 42 house development

Cavan County Council is considering an application by a Cavan based developer for the extension of time to complete a housing development at River Crescent, Virginia, Cavan.

Lynchon Properties Ltd are seeking an extension of time to erect 42 fully serviced four bedroom, two storey semi detached dwellings houses.

Lynchon Properties’ current directors are Martin Lynch and Jacqueline Lynch. The application covers details such as connection to foul sewer and water main, service road and associated works.

The application was originally finalised in December 2008. Permission was granted subject to 35 conditions, including that the developer pay €197,760 to the Planning Authority as a contribution towards expenditure incurred in respect of public infrastructure. Other considerations include the lodgement of a bond, stipulations with regard the connection to utilities, the provision of social and affordable housing, broadband, water considerations, public spaces and the provision and maintained of roads.

The request is the latest in a series of applications to extend time for developments in the town. The local authority planning department recently granted permission to Capital Oil Supplies Ltd to extend time to erect 105 houses in total, comprising of 88 semi-detached dwellings and 17 detached dwellings, along with a crèche and site services.

That permission was first granted to Eugene O’Dwyer in November 2004 subject to 38 conditions. Last July a 78 residential units development at The Drumlins, Bailieborough Rd, Virginia was renewed permission by the local authority, but that was subsequently overturned by An Bord Pleanála.
