Combilift to create 200 new jobs

There was a significant jobs boost for the region as Monaghan firm Combilift announced 200 new jobs will be created with the announcement that the forklift manufacturer and material handling solutions provider is to expand its workforce.

The announcement was made by An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar TD at the opening of the new €50 million global headquarters and manufacturing facility.

Managing Director Martin McVicar has said that the biggest challenge for the company is the uncertainty of Brexit.

About 10% of its workforce live in Northern Ireland and 98% of what Combilift produces is exported, with a quarter of its products going to the UK.

The 200 new jobs, to be created over the next 3 years, will be for skilled technicians, design engineers, logistics and supply chain specialists and those with mechanical and electrical mechatronics skills. Combilift currently employs 550 people for the manufacture of its forklifts and material handling products.
