Housing Minister to address Cumann AGM

Damien English TD is Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government with special responsibility for Housing and Urban Development will be in Cavan Town tonight as he attends the area' Fine Gael Cumann's AGM.

The Annual General meeting of the local chapter will be under the Chairmanship of Gene Murphy. Speaking about the event the Cumann treasurer, Des Crossan said he expects a good turnout for the meeting: “He is coming down to attend the meeting in Fine Gael House this evening. He is making himself available to address a few locally relevant issues.”

The treasurer said it is a good opportunity for the Minister to get in touch with the party's grass roots: “Minister Heather Humphreys is our local TD, but Minister English is from a neighbouring county. It is anticipated that the Minister will answer questions on Brexit, Cavan General hospital, jobs in the area and any other issues that are raised by attending members.”

Mr Crossan said that councillors Madeleine Argue and Peter McVitte will be in attendance along with Senator Joe O'Reilly.
