Gardaí appealing for witnesses to collision

A two car collision in Kingscourt over the weekend resulted in the death of an 18-year-old male driver.

18-year-old David Lekerauskas, from Kingscourt, lost his life in a collision with another vehicle shortly before 2am on Saturday morning.

Bailieboro gardai confirmed that the car driven by an 18-year-old male driver collided with a second vehicle on the Dublin Road in Kingscourt. David Lekerauska was fatally injured in the collision.

The body of the deceased was removed to Cavan General Mortuary where a post mortem was carried out.

The driver of the second car, a 19-year-old male, was uninjured in the crash.
