Counting continues
As the counters take a break from sorting through the ballot papers the Yes advantage is at 56% over the No’s 44%.
A number of Monaghan boxes are open and again there are the quirky Booths that throw up some unusual numbers.
Latton NS went with a resounding No, the campaigners to retain the 8th Amendment outnumbered the opposition by 224 votes to 160. It was dramatically against the grain as the majority of boxes counted thus far have been in favour of repeal.
A box in Minister Heather Humphreys home are of Aghabog gave it to the Yes side by 160 to 140, while Oran registered a dead tie at 150-150.
In Cavan Stradone Yes comprehensively surpassed No by 255 to 155, while Aughadreena NS returned a box 258 to 175. Turnout is yet to be determined, but all indications suggest the figure will be high.
