Nominations open for 2019 Anglo Celt Cavan Business and Tourism Awards

The categories for the 2019 Anglo Celt Cavan Business and Tourism Awards have been announced and this year companies across the county will be vying to make the cut for the award ceremony on October 18 in the Slieve Russell Hotel.

The range of fields encompassed by this year's competition aims to acknowledge and celebrate achievement in sectors as diverse as professional services and community spirit.

This year the awards will be made in 12 categories. There are a number of modification to the make up of the recipients to reflect changes in the business, voluntary and tourism community.

Advertising Sales Manager with The Anglo Celt, Yvonne Jackson, said the vibrancy of this year's competition is a testament to the progressive nature of Cavan business: “The Cavan business community has been very supportive of the Anglo Celt down through the years and on this special night we try to reciprocate that support. The forward-thinking entrepreneurial spirit of this small county is inspiring. In the Cavan Business and Tourism Awards we acknowledge that spirit.”

The categories for the 2019 Awards are: Best New Business, Most Innovative Business, Best in Customer Service, Professional Services - Gold Award, Gold Award - Cavan Food Producers, Best in Style & Beauty, Best Online content, Best in Dining, Best in Retail, Sales/Customer Service person of the year, Tourism - Gold Award and Community Spirit Award [non-profit].

This year the burgeoning of the food and food producing sector has seen the previous 'Food' category split into 'Food Producers' and 'Best in Dining'. The change not only recognises the growth in this sector by the businesses involved, but also the increased public interest in it.

This year's Community Spirit award is an opportunity for community groups across the county to acknowledge a particular individual who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in working for their community. Margaret's Happily Free Range (Clonarn Clover) is the the latest additional to the sponsorship team and it is fitting that Margaret will present the Community Spirit award.

Yvonne said The Anglo-Celt works hand in hand with local business in a complementary manner: “The Awards are dependant on all our terrific sponsors and we would like to congratulate in advance each and every one of the companies that takes time out to enter the Business and Tourism Awards. I would personally like to wish them all the best for the future.”

The sponsors for this years Awards are; The Slieve Russell, The Local Enterprise Office (LEO), Kelly Rahill Financial Services, AIB, Tourism Cavan (This is Cavan) and Margaret's Happily Free Range (Clonarn Clover).

The closing date for entries to the Cavan Business & Tourism Awards 2019 is 3pm on September 9. The Business Awards Gala Dinner will take place on Friday October 18 in the Slieve Russell Hotel.
