Family appeal for missing sibling

The family of a young Carigallen man have expressed concern for his well-being after he went missing earlier this week.

Cathal Whelan, aged in his 20's, has not made contact with family or friends since he was last seen in Clifden in Galway on Tuesday night last October 15, at around midnight.

Mr Whelan is an employee of the Restaurant Darcy Twelve on Market Square in the coastal town.

If anyone has heard from him please let us know as we are worried for his well being, please share thanks,” his brother posted on social media earlier today, seeking information and assistance from the public in helping trace the young man's whereabouts.

A national missing persons alert has not yet been issued by An Garda Siochana, but a spokesperson for the force confirmed to The Anglo-Celt this afternoon that Gardaí in Clifden had received a formal report of a missing person yesterday, Thursday, October 17. “The male was last seen on Tuesday 15th October at 11.59pm.”
