Cavan needed Johnston!

Dear Editor,

I am delighted that the Seanie Johnston saga is finally over!

Can you imagine Jim McDonnell, Ray Carolan or Charlie Gallagher receiving a phone call that they were no longer required?

Seanie Johnston picked up a serious injury in a college game a few years ago and had a steel pin inserted in his arm.

Naturally it took him a season or two to recover.

Seanie was never more needed than now.

To bring in so many young inexperienced players and to ignore a seasoned talent like Johnston beggars belief!!

Kildare could see the asset that Seanie would be to their team while Cavan were much too short-sighted.

Shame on the Cavan management!
