Pictured above are two of the G. A. A. 's biggest fans in Co. Cavan. Irrespective of weather, transport difficulties or whatever, these two Ballinagh stalwarts Phil Masterson and Jimmy Fitzpatrick, rarely miss a county or club game. On left is publican Phil Masterson, now in his early sixties, has been attending games since the thirties. He travelled to Croke Park for the first time in 1937 to see Cavan v Kerry and has been a fervent supporter ever since. Sixty - eight year old Jimmy Fitzpatrick from Garrymore, a retired postman, invariably accompanies Phil on his many journeys. He first attended a county game when Cavan played Kerry in the 1933 All - Ireland semi - final at Breffni Park. He cycled to various venues in the forties, May 1987, issue 8342
