Five years ago, Miss. Rosemary Power, Cavan ( above ), planted a peach stone in the garden behind her house in Colman Road. Blossoms appeared two years later but quickly died. Last year, seven blossoms sprouted but, like the first ones, they too, died. This year, however, the blossoms survived and grew in into eight delicious peaches. Miss. Power told our representative that only ordinary fertiliser was used, September 1971, issue 7532
