Bord Telecom, The Irish Press and the Department of Education co - sponsor of National Schools Choir Competition. Every year over 600 choirs are auditioned in their school by Department of Education, 80 of these proceed to regional finals. After the regional finals 12 are picked for the National finals held in the National Concert Hall.
